A warm and welcoming art club for artists of every level — from first-time sketchers to seasoned professionals — since 1975.
It was in 1973 that a small group of like-minded artists began meeting monthly to sketch outdoors in the beautiful Aberdeenshire landscape. Two years later, in 1975, Stonehaven Art Club was officially founded — and it has gone from strength to strength ever since.
The club has long prided itself as a mixing pot of artists of every persuasion. Whether trained or entirely self-taught, pursuing art as a career or purely as a leisure activity, everyone is equally welcome. We aim to inform and encourage all artists through talks, workshops and our celebrated annual exhibition.
See Our ProgrammeFrom April to November, we offer a rich calendar of events designed to inspire, educate, and bring our artistic community together.
Monthly evening meetings featuring demonstrations by practising artists, talks on art history, and lively critique nights. Open to members and visitors.
Hands-on Saturday workshops led by local artists offering insight into their particular techniques. Always well attended — places go quickly!
Our celebrated yearly exhibition showcases members' work in every medium — oils, watercolours, acrylics, charcoal and more. Open to the public, with most works for sale.
